Lullabies

One of All Time Low's best songs in my opinion would defiantly have to be the song Lullabies off of their album "Put Up or Shut Up." This song is about the lead singer Alex Gaskarth's brother killing himself and it is a very powerful song. I have listened to this song many times over to figure out just exactly what Alex is trying to say and I think it is a wide range of feelings. I think this song is a mixture of anger at his brother for leaving him like this and regret for not being able to help his brother or even  get a chance to say goodbye.

I think that the following lyrics are the best way to show the sadness and remorse that the situation has cause Alex:
"Forever's never seemed so long as when you're not around it's like a piece of me is missing.I could have learned so much from you but what's left now? Don't you realize you showed this family a world of pain? Can't you see this could have been a happy ending we let go?"
He is saying that he isn't the same anymore since his brother passed away. But at the same time he is showing his anger at his brother asking him if he realized the hurt that he has caused his family.

One of the most important lyrics in this whole song is the chorus:
"Sing me to sleep, i'll see you in my dreams. Waiting to say, 'I miss you I'm so sorry.'"
This is one of the saddest lines in any All Time Low. Alex realizes the only chance he has to see his brother anymore is in his dreams. And this is the one place where he can say what he really wants to say, I miss you and I'm sorry. This also shows that he has put some of the blame on himself for this.

This is my favorite song for so many reasons, I think that there was so much emotion and love put into this song that was probably really hard for Alex as a writer/singer to do. I think it is a very beautiful song and you can defiantly feel his pain.
